• Check the yard before each outdoor visit.
• Supervise pets outdoors and use appropriate leashes.
• Secure gates, inspect fence gaps, and review pet-door access.
• Remove outdoor pet food and other attractants.
• Choose a safe retreat route for walks.
• Identify who can help if you need assistance.
